Ami + Greg | New Orleans Wedding | Belle Soiree Events

Happy Happy New Year! I can NOT believe it is already 2015. I know I say that every year, but this year FLEW by! I got engaged to my love, married, bought land to build, honeymooned etc etc all in one year. On top of that, I had the privilege of servicing 25 brides. Busy indeed but wouldn't have it any other way.

I have so many weddings to share with you from 2014 and can't say enough great things about this one. I met Ami about two years ago and we hit it off instantly. We kept in touch via Facebook and I was always happy to assist her in any way I could with her planning. I became engaged and I found having a fellow engaged friend is so helpful and fun, even if I am a wedding planner! We bounced ideas off of each other and I loved having a non wedding professional or family member to talk to. I offered to coordinate her big day because I just wanted to help her have the best wedding day. I know the struggles of paying for a wedding on your own and anything I could do to help Ami have THE BEST DAY ever would be my absolute pleasure. She accepted my offer and the magic began!

Ami is more organized and type A than I am. I never thought I would meet someone who had their stuff together more than I did. She made my job SO easy with endless list, already made timelines, etc. What a joy!

Ami chose Nick Radford as her photographer and I am SO THANKFUL. Nick is amazing. His images are AMAZING. What I love about out of town photographers is the fresh new perspective of our city. So many photographers and other creatives focus on getting the perfect shot with no cars in backgrounds, napkins folded the exact perfect way, etc. Nick was not afraid to capture the local musicians on the street, the random furniture on street corners, the air condition units on the side of the buildings and so on. You can really re live the day moment by moment picture by picture because it's EXACTLY how I remembered. Sometimes as wedding professionals, we get so caught up with how the event "looks" rather than focusing on the bigger picture. This is someones wedding day. You cannot get these moments back, ever. The flowers may be hanging a little to the left or the ribbon might not be flowing the way I want it to for picture purposes but at the end of the day, two people are getting married. They have hired us, the professionals, to make that happen. We create moments and allow our clients to enjoy those moments. The rest is all fluff. We of course want it to look fabulous and that contributes to those precious memories, but I cannot stress the importance of the bigger picture. This day is the first day of the rest of your life.

Ami borrowed lace from her mothers wedding gown and incorporated that into her veil. It was a surprise to her mom and she was so thrilled. It brought tears to all of our eyes. These special touches are what make my life!

In true New Orleans fashion, Ami decided to go ahead with having a second line. We went back and forth on this for a while and it's safe to say everyone had the time of their life!

If you've ever wondered what a sprinkle exit looks like, look no further. I have always wanted to do this and loved the end result!
